Deaf Stepping Stones
Volunteer and work placement program for deaf people with mental health or learning disabilities.
In London, Dering are delivering a pilot program in partnership with SignHealth, enabling deaf people who may not be ready for work just yet to try out work placements, or to undertake volunteering opportunities, with support workers if needed.
Aimed at deaf people with mental health or learning disabilities, Deaf Stepping Stones will allow people to move out of day care or supported housing environments into sustainable volunteering opportunities, contributing to local communities.
Working with SignHealth, we are able to provide “life-coaches” who work with you to develop confidence and self-esteem.
